My youth was spent in a small coal mining community in the Appalachian mountains where, as a young lad, I had many adventures exploring in the woods and climbing mountains. During much of my youth in this isolated community I spent a lot of time planning my escape to something bigger and better.

The majority of my professional career has been divided between working in the medical field and financial accounting work.  I spent the first seven years running around in the back of an ambulance giving emergency care to gunshot victims, drug overdoses, car wreck victims and so forth.  After that I decided it was time for a change and went back to school and earned an accounting degree. I've since spent years of my life sequestered in a tiny office with no windows under the reality-distorting glare of fluorescent lighting doing financial accounting work. 

I'm currently pursuing a life-long dream of writing a book and am nearing its completion. I hope to have it finished by August 2010.
